Dr. Janis Bragan Balda
Dr. Janis Bragan Balda is Professor of Management at the Centre for Advancing International Management (AIM Centre) at St. George’s University, where she also directs the specialty management degree program initiatives. Dr. Balda established the Peter F. Drucker Society of the Caribbean at SGU and leads research efforts in total health management in collaboration with the Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation [WINDREF].

Dr. Balda was formerly a professor at George Fox University, teaching and researching in international management. She created GFU’s Brazil program for MBA students, consults on organizational issues for a number of international organizations, and travels widely in her various roles.

She formerly worked as in-house legal counsel for World Vision International, as a consultant to The Peter F. Drucker Graduate Management Center for development of nonprofit management, and with The Peter F. Drucker Archives and Manuscript Project. She also served for nine years on the board of Medical Assistance Program (MAP) International and for 6 years on the board of Mt. San Antonio Gardens, a non-profit, nationally recognized Life Care senior community.

Since 1978, Dr. Balda has been in private law practice, researching, writing and speaking on issues affecting international, religious, and nonprofit organizations. She has served two terms on the California State Bar Committee on Nonprofit Organizations and Unincorporated Associations, has published various articles, and speaks regularly about legal issues affecting nonprofits. She has lectured at The Drucker School, Claremont School of Theology, La Verne University School of Law, and Hope International University on organizations, legal issues, and management, and has published various academic and popular articles in these areas.

Balda holds a Ph.D. in management education from Claremont Graduate University, the M.A. in Management from the Drucker School of Management, Claremont Graduate University; the Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and LLM from Cambridge University, England; and the M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, as well as a B.A. in political science from Taylor University.

Dr. Christopher Dennis
Christopher Dennis (MD, MBA, Associate Professor of Management

As Chief Medical Officer, Commercial Division and Vice President, Regional
Medical and Clinical Director, Dr. Dennis oversees ValueOptions’
Commercial Division medical operations, as well as the NYC Service
Center’s medical and clinical operations: medical affairs, care management
and quality assurance. Additionally, he is also responsible for the medical
operations management of ValueOptions’ Great Lakes Service center in
Wixom, Michigan. He is focused on achieving operational efficiencies and
improving the company’s clinical offerings to continue providing exceptional
service to ValueOptions’ clients and members.

Before joining ValueOptions in 2003 as a Peer Advisor, Dr. Dennis served
as the Associate Director of the Jacobi Medical Center’s Comprehensive
Psychiatric Emergency Program where he continues to work as an
attending psychiatrist. Additionally, Dr. Dennis maintains a private
practice as a psychiatric consultant to several New York area Nursing
Homes.

Dr. Dennis earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s
University School of Medicine and completed a Master’s of Business
Administration in Health Care Administration through the Baruch
College/Mount Sinai School of Medicine program. An Assistant Professor of
Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine,
he is board certified in Psychiatry.

Dr. Kristine Dale Kawamura
Dr. Kristine Dale Kawamura is a researcher, teacher, and strategic consultant with professional experience that spans the globe.  She has worked in global management, marketing, and sales work in the Information Technology industry for over 25 years, including 10 years of boutique-style consulting with globally-located companies.  Prior to researching and teaching at St. George’s, Dr. Kawamura has been an adjunct professor at Cal State Fullerton (Fullerton, California) and George Fox University (Portland, Oregon).

Dr. Kawamura has an active consulting practice providing consultative strategy, leadership development, and organizational change programs to help global business leaders and teams to make better decisions as they survive, innovate, and grow through change.  She currently helps today’s companies to “Do More with Less” in our current recession, and to lay the foundation for revitalization and growth.  Clients include start-up, small and medium-sized enterprises, and divisions of large organizations in the information technology, communications, services, and financial services organizations.  

Dr. Kawamura was the Founder of Strategic Linkages International, where she brought U.S. firms to the Southeast Asian marketplace.  She led a branch turnaround using client-centered values and strategy at Entex Information Services.  She was a core member of the founding team, and VP Marketing/International, for Giga Information Group.  And, after serving right-hand to the CEO for numerous years, she launched the Southeast Asian Operations in Singapore for the Gartner Group.  Her career began at IBM, where she gained the foundation for using IT solutions to solve business problems. 

Dr. Kawamura earned her PhD in Management from the Drucker-Ito School in Claremont, California, an MBA from the Anderson School in Los Angeles, California, and a BA in Economics from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.  She has also traveled in over 80 countries, bringing global experience and cultural understanding into research, teaching, and consulting engagements. 

Her current research interests include: Globalization and Global Strategy; Creativity and Innovation; Women and Leadership; Cultural Intelligence Modeling; Global Leadership and the Heroes Journey; and Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies.

Dr. Fernando Mora
Dr. Fernando Mora is Visiting Professor in Health Informatics, Organizations and Technology and was formerly Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Universidad Simón Bolívar in Caracas, Venezuela. He has published over 100 articles and papers in his field. He received his undergraduate degree in electronic engineering at Universidad Simón Bolívar, the M.S. in biomedical engineering from California State University-Sacramento, and the Doctorat en Sciences, Genie Biologique et Medical from the Université Francois Rabelais in Tours, France.
Dr. Jim Reinmuth
Dr. Jim Reinmuth joined the University of Oregon's business faculty in 1967. He was named dean of the Lundquist College of Business in 1976, and led the college through 1994. He retired as dean, but remains the Lundquist Distinguished Professor of Business. As dean, Reinmuth helped organize a successful annual fund for the college and launched a faculty endowment program that now supports 15 faculty positions. He also helped the college develop the endowment leading to the creation of the Charles H. Lundquist College of Business. In 1989-90, Reinmuth served as vice president for public affairs and development at the University of Oregon, working with then-President Myles Brand to plan the launch of the university's most successful capital campaign - raising more than $250 million.

After leaving the dean's position, Reinmuth served as executive director of the Oregon Joint Professional Schools of Business Program. Created by the Oregon Legislature, the program coordinates the efforts of OSU, UO, and Portland State University in offering graduate management programs. Since 1997, Reinmuth has continued to teach at the University of Oregon. He also serves on the board of directors for several companies in Oregon and Asia, has headed several civic initiatives, and been an adviser to several companies. He is senior consulting vice president for Grenzebach, Glier & Associates, a philanthropic management consulting service. Reinmuth has visiting academic appointments with numerous universities in Asia and Australia. He has written six books and more than 50 articles on business planning and analysis. In 1998, he was named an Alumni Fellow by the OSU Alumni Association.
