Vice President of Program Development
Matthew L. McCumber joined SGU as its Vice President of Program Development in 2016, bringing with him more than 20 years of consulting experience, having served as senior advisor to academic medical centers and other health care organizations.
Over his career, he has concentrated on the evaluation, planning, and implementation of graduate medical education (GME), ambulatory care planning, and revenue cycle improvement. Prior to SGU, Mr. McCumber spent seven years at Germane Solutions in Dayton, OH, as its Vice President of Major Client Initiatives. In this role, he developed affiliation agreements between teaching hospitals and federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) in order to better integrate continuity clinic training, increase patient access for FQHCs, and improve GME program economics. In addition, Mr. McCumber served as Senior Manager at Deloitte, where he led several ventures that assessed performance and implemented revenue cycle improvements for both nurses and physicians.
Mr. McCumber graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts in history and business economics, and went on to earn his Master of Business Administration from Miami (Ohio) University.
