Theresa McCann, PhD

Professor of Behavioral Sciences
Dr. McCann has served as an Associate Dean of Basic Sciences at St. George’s University since 2004, and also directs the University’s Simulation Center, Simulation Education, and Research. An SGU faculty member since 1999, she is currently an Epidemiologist and Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences, and has also given guest lectures in DVM and SAS courses.
A Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE), Dr. McCann not only coordinates all American Heart Association (AHA) courses in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers, Heartsaver CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS), she is also the Coordinator for the International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Training Center in Grenada. Her current research interests align with simulation education, trauma management and emergency cardiac care.
