Students
Sixty (60) networked computers are on the second level of the west wing of the Founders Library. Twenty-six (26) computers are located on the first level. An additional thirty-six (36) computers are located in the computer lab in the east wing of the Founders Library.
There are nearly one hundred (100) computers available for student use on the True Blue campus. All of these computers are connected to the True Blue campus local area network (SGU LAN) and to the Internet.
The IT Department supports a TA (Technical Assistant) program to provide support in our computer labs in Grenada. With the help of the TAs, the IT Department is able to keep these computer labs open and available to students during the week.
Students can connect to the Internet using their own computers in various locations on campus via wired and wireless (802.11a/b/g) connections. Additional wireless hotspots will be added to eventually provide Internet access throughout the entire campus. For more information, please see the Firefly Zone Map.
NOTE: Cable and Wireless provides access to the Internet via dial-up and ADSL. Students are free to contact Cable and Wireless in Grenada to establish their own accounts for use in the dorms or in off-campus housing.
NOTE: Digicel also provides cellular access via their GSM and GPRS networks in Grenada.
