"Firefly" Wireless Internet Access

Firefly Zone
In an effort to improve our students' overall educational experience by giving them greater freedom and mobility, St. George's University has begun its Wireless Internet Campus Project—"Firefly."

Until recently, SGU was able to supply wireless Internet access in only a few locations on the True Blue Campus. We have started the migration towards becoming a totally wireless university by providing wireless Internet access in additional locations. Please see the Firefly Zone Map. Wireless users should note that the SSID is "Firefly."

"Firefly ZONE" signs posted throughout the university indicate wireless hotspots. When additional hotspots become available, we will update the Firefly Zone Map.

What you will need to access the "Firefly ZONE"

To use wireless Internet access areas throughout the SGU campus, you will need a laptop computer with wireless capabilities supporting any of the following IEEE 802.11/a/b/g/n standards. For additional laptop requirements and to refer to "Firefly" and other SGU computing policies, please visit the SGU website's "Computing at SGU" policies link.

For further assistance, please contact the help desk by opening a ticket at http://shor.sgu.edu or by visiting the Information Technology walk-up desk located on the first level (east wing) of the Founders Library
