LAMS 516 Large Animal Surgery

 (4 cr.) (Didactic)

This is a purely didactic class that aims to prepare students for 4th year clinics, the NAVLE and their future career.  It aims to introduce students to surgical conditions, including trauma, encountered in the food-producing and equine species in terms of pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and management/prevention.

Emphasis will be placed on the clinical approach to evaluate, diagnose and treat the patient within societal expectations, as well as up-to-date therapeutic opportunities and prognosis where available.
