The Department of Physiology and Neuroscience of Saint George’s University School of Medicine is seeking to recruit a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor level.
Candidates should possess a PhD, or an MD/PhD in Physiology, or a related field, relevant academic training in Physiology, and direct experience of Physiology research and teaching in an academic environment. Experience of mentoring students in post-graduate work is desirable.
The successful applicant should have excellent oral and written communication skills and a commitment to the education of future health-care professionals.
Primary responsibilities will include participation in teaching of Physiology in the first year of the School of Medicine’s Basic Sciences curriculum, in particular didactic lectures, small group practical and laboratory sessions, training of Clinical Tutors (Junior MDs) as facilitators, and contribution to the graduate program within the department.
