The School of Veterinary Medicine at the St. George’s University is a rapidly growing international center for veterinary education, located on the beautiful Caribbean Island of Grenada. The program follows the general US pattern of four (4) years in duration, leading to the degree of DVM.
The first three (3) years of the program, which are undertaken in Grenada, consist of the basic veterinary sciences and introductory clinical work. The final year of the program consists of a year of clinical in affiliated schools in the US, UK, Ireland and Canada.
Applications are invited for the position of “Veterinary Teaching Associate” to teach Veterinary Histology/Anatomy;
The duties of these appointees will be as follows under the direction of senior faculty members:
- Assist in teaching the courses in their discipline
- Conduct appropriate laboratory sessions
- Contribute to preparation of teaching material
- Contribute to the School of Veterinary Medicine diagnostic services
The salary will be US $33,515.15 per annum.
Qualifications: Degree in Veterinary Medicine from a recognized institution with 1-2 years experience of research/teaching in the subject. Candidate with Master Degree preferred.
Appointments will be initially for a period of one year, extendable annually on mutual agreement up to a total period of three years. Opportunities for registering in a higher degree program (MSc. /PhD) with academic advancement may be encouraged.
Two months leave for each year of service is allowed. Encashment of salary in lieu of leave will be encouraged, up to 30 days a year.
The University would reimburse the air ticket for direct route for the candidate and spouse from home country or the place of recruitment to Grenada on the first appointment and on final termination of the appointment.
