Radiologist, Small Animal Medicine & Surgery Academic Program, SVM

St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a Radiology trained veterinarian for Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Academic Program.   

St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine is part of a rapidly growing internationally renowned AVMA-accredited university located on the beautiful English-speaking Caribbean island of Grenada.  Grenada enjoys a tropical climate with year round sunshine and an average temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit.  The national language is English and all typical amenities are available for a comfortable lifestyle.  Grenada is world-renowned for its beaches, sailing and water sports, including snorkeling and diving.  Grenada’s most famous beach, Grand Anse Beach, is a 2 mile stretch of pristine white sand that has been listed as one of the top beaches in the world. 

The Veterinary Medicine program offers three years of didactic coursework in basic sciences as well as an introduction to clinical work, partly through its Small Animal Clinic.  The Small Animal Clinic (SAC) is a community based small animal hospital that provides full service (24/7/365) veterinary care to the pets of Grenada and serves as the teaching clinic for 5th and 6th term veterinary students. 

Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited College of Veterinary Medicine, expertise in veterinary imaging with a sincere desire to teach veterinary students, and enthusiastically participate in a developing diagnostic imaging service and course. Candidates with board certification in the American College of Veterinary Radiology or the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging will be given preference. Board eligible Resident, DI Diplomate or equivalent qualifications will also be considered. 

Responsibilities include lecturing 5th and 6th term students, student tutoring during student DI rotations at the SAC and coordinating the teaching of Radiology I and II introductory courses.
