SGU has students and educators from around the world, including more than 90 students from India, currently enrolled in the University. In addition, SGU has brought in over 1,300 faculty members from all over the globe, including more than 60 from India, to create an unparalleled international educational environment.
Indian students are made to feel welcome by the many active student groups on campus, including the Indian Cultural Student Association (ICSA). ICSA is an active student organization on campus that works to share the Indian culture with the entire university and country of Grenada, hosting many events on campus, including a Diwali Show in the fall and a Holi Show in the spring.
SGU sits at the center of a global network of academic, medical, and scientific collaborators and is perhaps the most organically international academic community in the world. SGU alumni, who come from varying academic systems and culture, speaking different languages, stand beside their colleagues who hail from the best schools in the world, having matched their performance on top qualifying exams.

SGU has contributed over 12,000 physicians to the global physician workforce, with students and graduates from over 140 countries, including nearly 300 from India. They are practicing in every state in the US, as well as Canada, UK, and other countries around the world. According to the American Medical Association, SGU has contributed more doctors into the US healthcare system than two-thirds of the US medical schools.
SGU helps students manage the overwhelming amount of information they have to retain in a very short period of time with its commitment to proactive student academic support services. SGU’s Department of Educational Services helps students learn study skills, time management, test-taking skills, and other skills necessary to master complex, ever-changing scientific material needed as a foundation for clinical practice and lifelong learning.
