Dr. Charles received a PhD in International Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale FL, 2008. Her undergraduate degrees include a BS, International Business (1995) and MBA, Finance (1997), from Barry University, Miami Shores, Florida.

Dr. Charles is currently an Associate Professor at St. George’s University, School of Arts and Sciences, in St. George’s, Grenada. She has been responsible for the development and delivery of undergraduate classes in International Business, International Marketing, Business Finance, and Managing Across Cultures at St. George’s University for the past twelve years.
In 2002 Dr. Charles co-founded Valhalla Investments Ltd. and is responsible for managing Mt. Stanhope Estate, a working spice and banana plantation that also operates as an eco-tourism site, hosting a variety of birdwatching, hiking, and spice experience tours.

Dr. Charles is currently the Director for People In Action, responsible for formulating and researching innovative, sustainable programs for socio-economic development that respects natural resources, human resources and cultural equity, and aids in the creation of funding and stimulating the proactive empowerment of the community’s and country’s developmental interests.

Dr. Charles research interests are primarily national cultures influence on management as well as issues related to the industry development within the Caribbean region. In particular she is interested in the development of the Agricultural sector as a business venture along with the Tourism sector.

Dr. Charles serves as a reviewer for International Business Review, Multinational Business Review, International Journal of Knowledge and Culture and Change Management.
