St. George's University has recently renewed its Campus Agreement with Microsoft with a new expiration of March 1, 2009. The Microsoft Campus Agreement is an annual licensing program specially created to address the unique needs of higher educational institutions. The Campus Agreement gives SGU the rights to run the licensed software for a 12-month period, and licenses all upgrades and downgrades of the software throughout the term of the agreement. If SGU doesn't renew this agreement, then the software licensed under this agreement must be deleted and removed from all computers at the time that this agreement expires.
The campus agreement includes the following products:
Upgrade/Downgrade Rights: The agreement grants SGU the option, "during the term of this agreement to run the most current version, or any previous version of the software."
Faculty, staff, and administrator users: have the right to use a second copy of the product on a home computer if they are the primary users of the workstation on campus.
(Important note - Users are not licensed to use the software at home for personal purposes.)
A Special Product Key will be generated for the licensed SGU staff and faculty members who need to load the software on their home computers for institution-related work. This Special Product Key is intended for the sole use of the User who is granted the Key. Holders of these key codes are required to keep their Special Product Keys secure and not distribute them to students and other non-faculty or non-staff individuals. SGU licensed faculty and staff will be held responsible for unauthorized use of their unique Special Product Key.
All faculty, staff, and administrators who elect to install the software on their home computers are required to sign Campus Agreement Acceptance Forms.
