Doctor of Medicine/Master of Public Health (MD/MPH) Dual Degree Program

The Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine supports dual MD/MPH and DVM/MPH programs. Students in the MD/MPH program follow the Biomedical Public Health track. In addition to meeting the requirements of the MD program, MD/MPH students must meet the following MPH requirements: 21 credits of graduate-level core and program-required courses, 6 credits elected from the remaining available courses, 6 credits for field-based practicum and 3 credits from the capstone seminar and paper.

The dual MD/MPH degree requires 36 credits of Public Health courses in addition to completing the medical program. This would require an additional six months of study in Grenada, plus one summer session, and includes a practicum that may be arranged in various settings.

Students seeking admission to the MD/MPH program will first be reviewed for acceptance into the medical program. Upon acceptance, the Office of Admission will forward the application to the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine for review and consideration.
