A bachelor degree program is traditionally designed to provide students with a well rounded education, as well as providing a comprehensive, professional and scholarly understanding of a student’s chosen discipline. The goal is to achieve a high level of proficiency and skill to enhance an individual’s personal and work life, gaining a greater capacity to have a positive influence on family, neighborhood, national, regional and global communities.
At SGU, this objective is fulfilled through an integration of general education, elective, and program required courses. The fulfillment of general education requirements and electives, combined with additional departmental electives, provides a broad-based knowledge and appreciation of various other areas such as Quantitative Studies, Computing, English Language, Sciences, and the world of the arts.
Degree requirements are comprised of a minimum number of credits in a specific major, additional general education requirements and a specified number of elective credits. In order to graduate a student must have a total of at least 120 passed credit hours, though some programs require more than 120 credits.
