The Office of Educational Assessment offers computerized testing, scoring and analysis, test administration, course grading and course and program evaluations. In addition to serving medical students and faculty, the center services support all courses offered to non-medical students.
Developing new evaluation instruments as needed. Revising and updating standardized course evaluation instruments through consultations with faculty. Administering evaluation questionnaires. Responding to requests for evaluation reports (for course review committees and Faculty Promotions, as examples). Providing interpretations of reports through consultations with faculty. Creating efficient and effective methods of data gathering, analyzing and reporting.
Providing technical consultations on test construction and grading for faculty. Developing the existing test scoring and analysis electronic test scanning, scoring and analysis. Consulting with the faculty on interpreting test analysis results (e.g., item analysis, score distributions).
Educating and supervising support personnel. Interacting with faculty and students regarding procedures, questions, problems. Dealing with issues of exam security, testing environment, and cheating Administering, proctoring, and scoring exams. Maintaining records of exams and scores/grades. Providing course directors with information on students' progress in their courses. Administering tests in compliance with Americans with Disability Act requirements.
