Grenada Campus Housing

The University has completed beautifully designed living space for students. Various living spaces have been created to provide a wide range of accommodation to best suit the needs of our multi-aged and multicultural student community. Most of the residences have been configured as suites—a varying number of bedrooms (single or double), each with its own bathroom, opening into a common kitchen/living area. All residences have air conditioning and internet access.

About On-Campus Housing

True Blue Campus Housing

Nestled on 42 acres of a windswept peninsula on the southwest corner of Grenada our main campus offers a variety of residence options for students. This is the location of the majority of our student housing facilities. All True Blue residence halls have central air conditioning, internet access, laundry facilities and each bedroom is furnished with twin sized bed(s)*, chair(s), desk(s), closet space, and bookshelves. Kitchen facilities are include a refrigerator, cook top stove, and microwave. Students are required to bring their linens (twin size and standard length) and tableware and cutlery.

* Married suites have a queen size bed. There is a limited amount of campus residence space for married students. More space is available in off-campus University-recommended housing.

Residence Assistants

All of the dormitories are staffed with Resident Assistants. These RAs foster a community of mutual respect and cooperation—and can provide assistance to students when needed.

Resident Assistants are available to ensure that students are issued keys and comfortably settled in to their rooms.
They are available to handle emergencies 24-hours a day.
They may mediate roommate problems, referring students to the Housing Office or Dean of Students for final resolution, if an amicable solution is not found.
There are 23 Resident Assistants on the campuses.

Complementary Cleaning Service and Maintenance

St. George’s University has a cleaning service that will come to student dormitories twice a week to sweep, mop floors, and clean bathrooms. This service is included in your housing fee.

The University also offers around-the-clock maintenance service that can be accessed at any time through filling out a facilities work order on the Self Help Online Resource (SHOR) (shor.sgu.edu).

In case of emergencies, students can contact the RA who will communicate with on-campus security to get the necessary assistance.
Completing a work order on SHOR allows the resident to check the status of their request and helps the resident communicate with the facilities manager by updating the initial request, if additional work is needed or if the nature of the problem changes.

Security

The University has security guards who patrol both campuses 24-hours a day, but it is still important to remain aware of your surroundings. One way to do this is to follow the same general safety guidelines you would at home.

Storage

Storage space is available on the True Blue campus. Note that the University is not responsible for any property placed in storage; however, students can opt to insure their items with local insurance companies.
