Trinity Square Residence Building

Students enrolled in the St. George’s University of Grenada School of Medicine/Northumbria University are housed together in the Trinity Square Residence building. All entering students are encouraged to live in university housing for their entire year in the UK. Just a 20-minute walk or a quick bus or Metro ride from Northumbria University’s city campus, Trinity Square Residence puts you in the heart of Gateshead, across the River Tyne from Newcastle town centre. Trinity Square Residence is comprised of 60 shared flats for groups of five students. The majority of the flats have five en suite rooms. The average size of a standard room is 13 square metres.

The housing fee includes high-speed 100 Mb broadband Internet and utility bills. Students need to provide cooking equipment including utensils, crockery and cutlery.  Students must also provide bedding.  Beds are doubles–dimensions are 135cm wide and 190cm long.

This housing application is a contractual agreement with SGU for the SGU/NU program and is subject to the University’s Housing Cancellation Policy. Since the housing is provided through Northumbria University, students will also have to sign a binding Tenancy Agreement with NU’s Accommodation Services for the length of the contract (44 weeks).   Students are required to pay a Northumbria University Accommodation Services fee on signing the Housing Tenancy agreement.  This is refundable until the end of the tenancy agreement provided there is no damage to the accommodation and conditions of the tenancy agreement have been met. Your housing application, fee assessment and payment will be processed through St. George’s University. Once we have processed your housing application, Northumbria University will provide you with your Tenancy agreement and room assignment. Please note that the University recommends taking out insurance to protect your belongings. Renters insurance is not covered in the cost of your housing fee.
