Brian P. Butler, DVM, MPH, PhD, Dipl. ACVP

Professor, Pathobiology

Dr. Brian Phillip Butler is a professor in the Department of Pathobiology.  He teaches pathology in the DVM curriculum, provides diagnostic surgical pathology services, participates in collaborative research, and serves as a mentor to graduate students.  His areas of interest include alimentary and hepatobiliary pathology, dermatopathology, mucosal immunology, and bacterial pathogenesis.

Dr. Butler earned his Master of Public Health and DVM from St. George’s University in 2004 and 2005 respectively. After graduating, he entered small animal practice for two years and then completed a PhD in comparative pathology at UC-Davis, followed by a pathology residency at Cornell University.
