Associate Professor, Veterinary Pathology
Dr. Brian Phillip Butler is Director of Diagnostic Pathology and Associate Professor in the Department of Pathobiology. He teaches systems pathology in the DVM curriculum, serves as a mentor to graduate students, and also participates in collaborative research. His areas of interest and research focus include alimentary and hepatobiliary pathology, mucosal immunology, food safety, bacterial pathogenesis, and salmonellosis.
Dr. Butler earned his Master of Public Health and DVM from St. George’s University in 2004 and 2005 respectively. After graduating, he entered small animal practice for two years and then completed a PhD in comparative pathology at UC-Davis, followed by a pathology residency at Cornell University.
