Dr. Ekele Ikpegbu was the best graduating student in Veterinary Anatomy class of 2003. His sterling leadership quality got him elected as the President of Student of Union Government (2001). He had a CGPA of 5 points in M.Sc. Veterinary Anatomy (2013) from the University of Nigeria. His PhD at the University of Edinburgh under the auspices of Prof. Colin Farquharson gave him the opportunity to present papers in many conferences from Edinburgh, Liverpool, Bristol, Italy and Las Vegas.

Dr. Ekele Ikpegbu actively supported University students in teaching, laboratory practical and project supervision for over 14 years while at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Nigeria. He has served in many capacities including the acting Head of Department.
He is actively involved in research with over 50 published journal articles. He is the Principal Investigator of a TETFund grant profiling the expression of some ovarian proteins (GDF-9 and BMP-15) and a co-investigator in an NRF funded project designing PPRV rapid test kit.
