Marta Lanza Perea, MRCVS, MSc

Associate Professor

Dr. Marta Lanza-Perea joined the SGU faculty in February 2004 and is currently an Associate Professor and Course Director for the junior surgery and anesthesia lab. Her interests include soft tissue surgery, animal behavior, and infectious diseases, particularly tick borne diseases and TVT.

Prior to her tenure at St. George’s University, Dr. Lanza-Perea spent nearly eight years working in the UK, first as an Official Veterinary Surgeon in slaughterhouses. She then joined a mixed animal practice to work with horses, eventually shifting her focus to private small animal practice as a general practitioner.

Dr. Lanza-Perea earned her Bachelor in Veterinary Medicine (equivalent to DVM) from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain in 1994, and her MSc in clinical and morphological pathology from St George’s University in 2014. She is a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
