Stacey Byers, DVM, MS, DACVIM(LA), MBA

Professor

Stacey Byers is a Professor in the Department of Large Animal Medicine and Surgery. Her areas of expertise are livestock medicine and general livestock surgery.  She is also interested in veterinary student professional education topics including communications, ethics, and well-being as well as client education with the goal to improve the health and welfare of livestock species.

 

Dr. Byers obtained her DVM at Washington State University in 2005. She completed an agriculture animal and theriogenology internship (2006) and food animal internal medicine residency (2009) at WSU as well. She obtained her MS and became a Diplomate of the ACVIM in 2009. Dr. Byers completed an MBA in Multi-Sector Health Management from SGU in 2022.

 

Prior to joining SGU, Dr. Byers was an associate professor at Colorado State University. She owns an ambulatory livestock veterinary practice in Colorado and is a consultant on VIN for ruminants and swine.
