Student Support Services

Student support is at the core of the St. George’s University mission. The University offers a wide range of services that ensure that the University is in partnership with each student during his or her academic journey. In fact, more than 98 percent of students take advantage of the academic and non-academic assistance the University makes available.

Office of the Dean of Students

From orientation to graduation, the Dean of Students (DOS) Office provides support and guidance in non-academic areas to all students in the University. Helping students achieve academic success and encouraging them to exhibit the highest standards of professionalism in their chosen fields is at the very center of the DOS mission.

Student Accessibility and Accommodation Services

The mission of the Student Accessibility and Accommodation Services is to provide equal opportunity to students with disabilities and promote a welcoming campus environment for those needing accommodations.

Department of Educational Services

Our dedicated Department of Educational Services (DES) teaches students how to learn and teachers how to teach. This unique and highly effective faculty is the largest on campus, and is an important component of student and graduate success.

Health and Psychological Services

Available to the entire SGU community, University Health Services (UHS) and the Psychological Services Center (PSC) are committed to providing the best service by a qualified and experienced staff. The True Blue Clinic maintains modern clinic facilities with scheduled and walk-in hours from 9 am to 4:30 pm AST, in addition to 24-hour coverage by well-credentialed physicians and physician assistants. Counseling services are available on the Grenada campus through the Psychological Services Center.

Career Guidance and Student Development

School of Medicine

The SOM Office of Career Guidance and Student Development (OCGSD) assists medical students navigate through postgraduate medical training and licensure procedures successfully and effectively. The office is staffed by faculty and alumni who can advise students on preparing for licensing examinations and offer counseling in specialty and residency selection, as well as the residency application process in the United States and the United Kingdom.

School of Veterinary Medicine

The primary mission of the SVM Office of Career Guidance and Student Development (SVM OCGSD) is to facilitate the professional and personal goals of veterinary medical students. The SVM OCGSD is staffed by SVM administrators and faculty and is committed to equipping veterinary medical students with the tools they need to be successful in their professional lives.

The SVM OCGSD provides placement opportunities for postgraduate, fourth-year clinical students, and veterinary medical students in the first three years of the DVM curriculum. Our mentors, advisors and alumni provide career coaching for students and we cannot overemphasize the benefits of utilizing their expertise.  Through the SVM OCGSD, students receive preparation that serves not only at the start of their careers, but for many years to come.

Office of the University Registrar

The Office of the University Registrar ensures the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of all academic records, providing a variety of services to students, including registration, advanced standing evaluation, diploma distribution, ID replacements, licensure documentation, transcript requests, and transfer credit evaluation.
