FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will the January 2022 term start in person or online?
All students in the School of Medicine will be welcomed back to in-person learning on campus in Grenada for the January term.

Are students required to have the COVID-19 vaccine?
Our priority is protecting the health of our students, and that of the Grenada community, by preventing the spread of the disease. As part of our plan for a safe return to campus life, COVID-19 vaccinations are required for all students, faculty, staff, administrators, and visitors on campus. We urge all students who have an opportunity to get fully vaccinated to do so as soon as possible. We remain committed to providing you with all the resources and support needed to be successful.

Will online virtual learning be an option?
Our expectation is that all students will be on campus for the January 2022 term. We will continue to monitor the pandemic conditions and will update our plans related to distance learning closer to the start of term.

I do not have an MCAT score. Can I still apply for the January 2022 term?
In response to the continued impact caused by COVID-19, the MCAT requirement will be waived for those who have been unable to secure a test date. For the January 2022 application cycle only, we will consider and accept applicants without MCAT scores.

If you already have an MCAT score, or you have a pending MCAT score, it must be submitted as part of your application.

All students who apply to SGU without an MCAT score or a pending test score date will be asked to sign a declaration indicating that they have been unable to secure a timely sitting for the examination

When is the MCAT being administered?
The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) selects about 20 MCAT test dates each year, and they are all between the months of January through September to fit in the US medical school application cycle. To see the dates in August and September and to register for the exam please visit the US MCAT calendar on the AAMC website.
