First-time pass rate is defined as the number of US students (US citizens/permanent residents) passing USMLE Step 1 on their first attempt divided by the total number of US students taking USMLE Step 1 for the first time within the given time range. In order to be certified to take USMLE Step 1, students are required to pass all basic sciences courses.

Transcripts

Request official copies of transcripts from all colleges and universities that you have attended. Official transcripts can be submitted via email or by mail.

Notes

  • Your verified AMCAS/AACOMAS alone is sufficient for an initial review for an interview.
  • Transcripts will be required for a final decision.
  • For unverified AMCAS/AACOMAS, you will need to submit your transcripts to be reviewed for an interview.

Letters of Recommendation

We require two letters of recommendations. Letters can be emailed, sent via Interfolio, or by mail.

MCAT Scores

Send SGU your MCAT scores electronically by logging into your AAMC account.

Do I need to Submit MCAT Examination Scores with My Application?

US applicants must submit a Medical School Admissions Test (MCAT) score as part of their application.

When is the MCAT being administered?

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) selects about 20 MCAT test dates each year, and they are all between the months of January through Sepetmber to fit in the US medical school application cycle.
