First-time pass rate is defined as the number of Canadian students passing USMLE Step 1 on their first attempt divided by the total number of Canadian students taking USMLE Step 1 for the first time within the given time range. In order to be certified to take USMLE Step 1, students are required to pass all basic sciences courses.

Rate Lock
To help ensure that fluctuations in currency rates do not negatively impact the cost of your education, St. George’s University MD students from Canada can have their exchange rate locked for their entire education at SGU. Rate lock is based on 3-month average rate as of June 30 of the matriculation year.

Pathway To Matching

Students enrolled in our School of Medicine program spend two years studying the basic sciences, followed by access to clinical training opportunities at over 75 leading hospitals and health systems in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.4

Entry points are available for students from any education system around the world—including a Four-year program for those entering with a traditional baccalaureate degree, and Five, Six, and Seven-year Preclinical programs for those entering with undergraduate degrees.

Do I need to Submit MCAT Examination Scores with My Application?

US applicants must submit a Medical School Admissions Test (MCAT) score as part of their application.

When is the MCAT being administered?

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) selects about 20 MCAT test dates each year, and they are all between the months of January through Sepetmber to fit in the US medical school application cycle. To see the dates and to register for the exam, please visit the US MCAT calendar on the AAMC website.
