    This year, students, alumni, faculty, and staff made remarkable contributions to St. George’s University creating proud moments of success. We selected a few of the most notable moments: here are the most impactful School of Veterinary Medicine stories of 2025:

    1. SGU marked the 25th anniversary of its School of Veterinary Medicine at the VetBolus 2024 Conference, celebrating a quarter-century of veterinary medical education and impact.
    2. An SGU alum shared his path to caring for military working dogs in the US Army, highlighting how his SGU training prepared him for high-stakes service.
    3. Thirty-seven SGU students and alumni earned competitive VIRMP residencies and internships across specialties including emergency and critical care, dermatology, and oncology.
    4. SVM faculty explained the evolving bird flu situation in the US, breaking down transmission risks, public health concerns, and the vital role of veterinarians.
    5. The School of Veterinary Medicine honored the Class of 2025 at Commencement, celebrating new veterinarians as they launch their careers.

    3. VIRMP 2025: 37 SGU Veterinary Students + Alumni Secure Competitive Residencies and Internships

    Thirty-seven SGU veterinary medical students and alumni earned positions in the Veterinary Internship & Residency Matching Program (VIRMP) in 2025. They secured placements in specialties such as small animal internal medicine, emergency and critical care, small and large animal surgery, and zoological companion animal medicine.
