White coats on. Future physicians ready. 🩺
Relive the highlights of our SGU/Northumbria School of Medicine White Coat Ceremony in Newcastle, UK.
Congratulations again to our newest white coat recipients. Your journey starts now! 👏
As SGU celebrates its 50th Anniversary, few people had the opportunity to experience nearly every chapter of SGU’s history like Dr. John Madden, MD `81.
Now Associate Dean and Director of the Office of Career Guidance and Student Development (OCG), Dr. Madden has spent his career helping SGU students prepare for residency.
He recalls a 63-year-old student who came to SGU after serving in WWII and a career at Boeing. He later matched into psychiatry, practicing into his late 70s.
"Helping students realize their dream of becoming physicians is what continues to motivate me every single year."

"Today is a very special day. I`ve waited two years for this. Even though it`s a big milestone, it`s just the first step, with more to go!"
