    Bio

    Dr. Clementson is a medical educator and physician specializing in pharmacology and ophthalmology, with a strong record of teaching, leadership, and clinical service. She currently serves as Lecturer in Pharmacology and Content Manager at St. George’s University (SGU), where she develops curriculum, designs assessments, mentors junior faculty, and advises students. In her leadership role as Director of Galen College, she provides academic and wellness support, fosters student engagement, and organizes professional development activities.

    She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Guyana, a Master of Science in Primary Care Ophthalmology (with distinction) from the University of Edinburgh, and postgraduate certificates in Medical Education (SGU) and Teaching and Learning (MGH Institute of Health Professions, Massachusetts). Her professional journey has included roles as Clinical Instructor at SGU, Part-time Lecturer at the University of Guyana, and Medical Officer in Ophthalmology at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

    Dr. Clementson’s research interests include medical education, ophthalmology, and digital health innovations. She has served as principal investigator on studies of psychological safety in medical education, digital eye strain in medical students, and telemedicine approaches for diabetic retinopathy screening. She has also authored case reports, supervised student projects, and contributed to regional and international research collaborations.

    Recognized for her academic and professional contributions, Dr. Clementson has received awards such as Best Faculty Poster Presentation at SGU Research Day (2024) and Best Presenter at the Ophthalmologic Society of the West Indies Conference. Dedicated to advancing healthcare education, she combines innovative teaching with evidence-based clinical practice to inspire and support the next generation of physicians.
