Honoring Dedication, Shaping the Future: SGU SAS Annual Awards Ceremony

2026 SAS Award Ceremony awardees News

Applause filled Bourne Lecture Hall, on April 15, as students, faculty, staff, and University leadership came together for an evening dedicated to celebrating achievement in all its forms. From academic excellence and impactful research to exceptional service and leadership, the 2026 School of Arts and Sciences Awards Ceremony honored the exceptional members of the SAS community whose hard work and dedication have left a lasting mark on the School.

Guided by the theme “Honoring Dedication, Shaping the Future” this year’s ceremony underscored the vital role that commitment, perseverance, and service play in achieving success at SAS. More than 20 awards were presented to members of the SAS community whose contributions continue to shape the School’s culture of distinction.

“Each award presented today tells a story of dedication, growth, and purpose,” said Dr. Wendy Grenade, associate dean of Academic Affairs and Curriculum, assistant dean and director in the Division of Continuing Education and Professional Development. “Our honorees have distinguished themselves through their pursuit of excellence, their willingness to lead, and their commitment to serving others. They embody the values that will drive innovation, strengthen communities, and shape the leaders of tomorrow.”

Established in 2023, the SAS Awards were created to recognize members of the School of Arts and Sciences who embody its values. Now in its fourth year, the ceremony has evolved into a cherished tradition, showcasing the outstanding individuals whose contributions enrich the University experience and help drive the School forward.
