🎓 Meet your 2026 SVM Class Speaker: Daphne Harris! 🐾
Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, @daphneharris began her journey in veterinary medicine early, working as a veterinary technician throughout high school and college before earning her Biology degree from the University of Memphis in 2022. She then began her veterinary education at SGU, where she quickly became a leader, mentor, and advocate for her fellow students.
During her time at SGU, Daphne served in multiple leadership roles within the Student Government Association, including President of the School of Veterinary Medicine, participated in the PAWS Facility Program, and was inducted into the Phi Zeta Honor Society for academic excellence.
After completing her clinical training at the University of Tennessee, Daphne will begin her career in small animal general practice in Ocala, Florida, where she plans to pursue her passions for client education, dentistry, and surgery.
“When I received the email that I was nominated to speak on behalf of my colleagues, I felt beyond blessed,” Daphne shared. “This is such a gift to be able to represent my island family on such a monumental day in our lives.”
She added, “I will forever be grateful for this journey and the people I shared it with. The world is gaining an amazing group of veterinarians. Congratulations Class of 2026!” 💙 #SGUGrad
