SGU offers you the flexibility of two different entry terms and two convenient ways to apply. Programs are offered in both August and January. You can apply using the Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS) or you can apply using the SGU direct application.

Program Requirements

Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS)

The Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS) is a centralized application program.
Students applying through VMCAS will submit all supporting documentation to VMCAS directly.

SGU does not require a supplemental application or an additional application fee.

The 2024-2025 VMCAS Application Cycle is now open and closes on September 16, 2024

SGU Direct Application

SGU accepts direct applications on a rolling basis. The final deadline for receipt of applications
is April 15 for the August term, and November 15 for the January term.

Submit your SGU application or your existing VMCAS application if you did not designate SGU this cycle.

SGU Direct applications require an application fee of $50.

What Do I Need to Apply to SGU?

Application
Apply through the Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS). Alternatively, you can apply directly by completing the SGU application or by submitting a verified PDF VMCAS application from the current cycle.

Supporting Documents
(These can be submitted at a later date.)

Official transcript(s) from each College/University and/or professional school that you have attended
Two (2) letters of recommendation, one (1) is recommended from a veterinarian.
