Dr. Heidi Janicke is a Professor in the School of Veterinary Medicine’s Department of Large Animal Medicine and Surgery. She is a European Board-Certified Specialist in Equine and Large Animal Surgery. Her research focuses on leadership, curriculum development and assessment in Veterinary Education.
Dr. Janicke earned her BVM from the Tierarztliche Hochschule in Hanover, Germany in 1996 before completing an internship in equine surgery at the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Cambridge. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy at University of Cambridge, Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Cambridge, UK in 2002. Dr. Janicke received her Diploma from the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2006 after completing her residency in large animal surgery in the Department of Veterinary Surgery, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University College Dublin, Ireland in 2005. She became a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2015 after obtaining her Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice from University of Essex, Colchester, UK in 2013.
