Jaelene Haynes, DVM, BVSc

Instructor

Dr. Jaelene Haynes is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Large Animal Medicine and Surgery, and a Co-course Director. She is interested in anatomy, orthopedics, and communication. She loves interacting with clients, specifically in the field of client education to improve the wellbeing of their animals. She also loves to teach students clinical skills and clinical reasoning. Dr. Haynes loves to give back to the Grenadian community and thus has fond memories of the One Health One Medicine (OHOM) clinics she used to participate in as a student.

Dr. Haynes obtained her DVM at St. George’s University, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2020, and completed her clinical rotation at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. During her time in the United Kingdom, Dr. Haynes focused on gaining experience in the food animal industry, pigs, cows and poultry, in addition to small animal medicine.

Prior to joining SGU, Dr. Haynes was a clinical veterinarian at the Grenada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA).

Dr. Haynes was born on the spice island, Grenada, where she proudly gained all of her education. She enjoys spending time in nature with friends and family.
