Dr. Baruah is assistant dean of students at St. George’s University’s St. George’s University of Grenada School of Medicine/Northumbria University Program. Her duties in this role include acting as the first point of contact for the SGU/NU students for the Dean of Students Office and as an advisor to the students for both academic and non-academic matters. She is also the Term 1 coordinator at Northumbria University responsible for looking after the administrative aspects of genetics, bioethics, and parasitology exams and timetabling for that term.

Prior to joining SGU in 2007, Dr. Baruah worked in pediatrics at Fairfield General Hospital, Manchester, and in psychiatry at Princess of Wales Hospital, Wales. She has also worked in physiology and medical microbiology. Dr. Baruah holds an MBBS from Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, India.
