    Bio

    Dr. Kazzara Raeburn is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Anatomical Sciences and Associate Dean of Basic Sciences at St. George’s University (SGU) School of Medicine in Grenada. She earned her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science in Anatomy from SGU and is currently completing a Master of Public Health, complementing her expertise in clinical anatomy, medical education, and health systems.

    Dr. Raeburn joined SGU’s faculty in 2009 and has since held progressive academic and administrative leadership roles, including Co-Chair of the Department of Anatomical Sciences, Assistant Dean of Basic Sciences for Curriculum, and Director of the Basic Sciences Honors Program. Her work focuses on curriculum design, assessment systems, accreditation-aligned educational quality, and the integration of ultrasound and radiologic imaging into anatomy education.

    An accomplished educator and scholar, Dr. Raeburn has received multiple teaching awards and commendations in recognition of her excellence in medical education. She has pursued advanced faculty development through the Harvard Macy Institute, completing coursework in health professions education, assessment systems, and educational research. Dr. Raeburn publishes and presents in clinical anatomy and medical education and serves in national leadership roles within the American Association of Clinical Anatomists. Her work is focused on strengthening curriculum design, assessment quality, and faculty development to prepare future physicians for effective clinical practice in diverse, global settings.

    • Clinical Anatomy & Applied Morphology Theme: Author of peer-reviewed studies and narrative reviews examining anatomical variation and clinically relevant structures with direct implications for surgery, radiology, and procedural safety.
    • Ultrasound & Imaging in Anatomy Education Theme: Longstanding focus on integrating ultrasonography and radiologic imaging into undergraduate and medical anatomy curricula to enhance spatial understanding and clinical correlation.
