Bio
Dr. Oluwatayo Olajide is a physician, educator, and public health advocate serving as a Clinical Instructor at St. George’s University. He combines frontline clinical experience with a strong passion for teaching, helping medical students build confidence, clinical reasoning, and practical skills.
A national scholar and MB;BS graduate of the University of Ilorin, he has trained across core medical specialties and contributed to patient care in both clinical and high-demand emergency settings. His teaching is known for creating engaging, student-centered learning experiences, shaped by active engagement in faculty development, earning him the 2026 LEAD Faculty Development Star Award.
Beyond the classroom, he is deeply involved in public health leadership and research across Africa, with work spanning health advocacy, student development, and peer-reviewed publications on key health challenges—from maternal and child health to emerging infectious diseases.
He brings together clinical insight, educational innovation, and a strong interest in health systems, with a clear purpose: training future physicians to think critically, act confidently, and care purposefully.
Professional Philosophy
I teach to develop thinking clinicians, not just knowledgeable students.
My approach is grounded in active, reflective learning—prioritizing dialogue over lecture, application over memorization, and feedback as a continuous, two-way process, helping learners translate knowledge into confident clinical action. I create supportive environments where students are challenged to think critically, reflect, and take ownership of their growth.
As an educator, I’m committed to continuous improvement, inclusive teaching, and mentoring future physicians to lead with competence, curiosity, and purpose.
