    Bio

    With nearly a decade of dedicated service at St. George’s University, Tandy James-Alleyne serves as the Peer Learning Programs Coordinator, leading and overseeing peer learning initiatives across all schools. Her work centers on the development, coordination, and continuous enhancement of peer-assisted learning programs designed to promote academic excellence, student engagement, and collaborative learning.

    In her role, Tandy provides strategic oversight for the School of Medicine (SOM) Peer Learning Groups, partnering closely with students, peer facilitators, and faculty to cultivate impactful and enriching learning experiences. In addition, she serves as a Faculty Advisor for students in the Academic Enhancement Program, supporting incoming students through personalized support strategies that encourage growth and resilience. Prior to this, she coordinated Peer Learning Groups for the School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM), where her commitment to student success earned her the St. George’s University Student Government Association Award of Excellence in recognition of her valuable contributions to the School of Veterinary Medicine.

    Recognized for her student-centered approach and passion for academic support, Tandy is committed to fostering inclusive and empowering learning environments where students can build confidence, strengthen connections, and achieve their fullest potential.

    I believe that learning is most transformative when students feel supported, connected, and empowered. My approach to peer learning is grounded in collaboration, mentorship, and the creation of inclusive environments where students are encouraged to build confidence while pursuing academic success. I am deeply committed to developing innovative programs that foster both academic excellence and a strong sense of community, while continuously striving to enhance and enrich the overall student learning experience.

    • My areas of research interest focus on peer learning, student engagement, academic support systems, and the continuous improvement of educational programs that promote student success.
