Bio
Dr. Temitayo Olagbemi earned her Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of the West Indies, Trinidad & Tobago and her master’s in public health (MPH) degree from St. George’s University, School of Graduate Studies, Grenada. She is an Assistant Professor with the Dean of Basic Sciences Office and delivers lectures in Public Health to Preclinical students. Prior to this, she was a Physician in the Emergency Department for 3 years.
She is the Assistant Dean of Academic Advising in Basic Sciences and the Director of the Academic Advising Development and Support Services (AADS) department where she leads a team of eight (8) full-time Academic Advisors and about thirty (30) part-time faculty advisors. She works closely with students in Basic Sciences (Year 1 & 2) and advises them on how to prepare for professional exams as they transition from Basic Sciences to Clinical years. She and her team meet with over 3000 students every term for Academic Advising.
Dr. Olagbemi is passionate about empowering the next generation of medical doctors. Her primary research areas are advising experiences in medical education and health disparities amongst adolescents from an epidemiological perspective.
