Biography
Dr. Stone received her MPH in 1972 from the University of California (UC), Berkley, a DVM in 1981 from UC Davis and a PhD in 1990 from Washington State University. She is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (1993).
Dr. Stone’s professional experiences include small animal practitioner (1981-1983); Assistant Professor, (1990-1997) and Associate Professor (1997-2006), Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Pathology at Washington State University; Professor (2006-present) School of Veterinary Medicine, St. George’s University (SVM-SGU). She served as chair of the pathobiology department at SVM-SGU from 2014-2017. She is currently the SVM Associate Dean for Research. She is also Adjunct Professor, Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at SGU.
Dr. Stone received the following academic honors: Phi Beta Kappa, Washington State University, Phi Zeta, University of California-Davis, College of Veterinary Medicine. Co-recipient of the Merck AgVet National Award for Creativity in Teaching (1995); Pfizer Award for Veterinary Research Excellence (2011).
Dr. Stone enjoys all aspects of research and in particular enjoys international collaborative research and mentoring students in research.
