    Professor of Entrepreneurship

    Biography

    Dr. Paul Pounder is a Professor of Entrepreneurship and Director of Graduate Programs at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. Professor Pounder earned a BBA in Entrepreneurship with honors from Brock University in Canada and a PhD in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Birmingham in the UK. His research focus consists of teaching and learning entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurial environment, social entrepreneurship and leadership. Broadly speaking, his research is published in a series of international journals in the areas of entrepreneurship and economic development. His work has been featured in esteemed news publication. In addition, he has been the recipient of a 2022 Emerald Literati Outstanding Paper Award, recognizing his impactful contribution to the overall field of entrepreneurship.

    Selected Projects

    • Blue Entrepreneurship in Small Island Economies: The aim of the project is to investigate the impact of COVID-19 and climate change on the blue entrepreneurial economy in SIDS. Exploring the various disadvantaged sectoral groups (fisher folk, beach vendors, seaside bars etc.) to see what innovations and strategies they have employed to cope with the crisis to remain sustainable in the blue economy.
