Biography
Dr. Yusuf Yakubu is an Assistant professor at St. George’s University, Grenada, within the Department of Public Health & Preventive Medicine. His teaching and research activities are centered on epidemiology, food safety, antimicrobial resistance, biostatistics, research methods and data management.
Dr. Yakubu is involved in Fleming Fund research on one-health surveillance and molecular epidemiology of antimicrobial resistant pathogens in animals, humans, and the environment. He is a resource person for the MacArthur Foundation Master degree program in Veterinary Epidemiology, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Nigeria; and a consultant with the Regional Animal Health Center (RAHC) of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), where he helped develop the Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) control and eradication strategy; and the ECOWAS livestock identification and traceability strategy (ECOLITS).
