St. George’s University School of Arts and Sciences alumna Moriah Howard, BSc ’22, is making her mark as a Fulbright Scholar at Western Illinois University, where she began her Master of Science in biology program in August.
A trained phlebotomist, Howard is specializing in microbiology with the goal of improving disease prevention and control in Grenada. “This is a great opportunity to bridge the microbiology gaps at home and contribute to both education and healthcare,” she said.
According to Fulbright, since its establishment in 1946, it has provided more than 400,000 participants from over 160 countries the opportunity to study, teach, and conduct research in the United States.
“Being part of this global network is both an honor and an opportunity to inspire others,” Howard added. “I’m proud to represent Grenada and to show others that the sky is truly the limit.”
