Achieve Your Medical Degree Goals
Pursue an education that paves the way for your future career as an MD.
4-Year MD + 1 Year Preclinical
The Five-Year MD Track (MD Track 5) at St. George’s University (SGU) School of Medicine in the Caribbean is suitable for students who have completed their high school education and performed well in science subjects.
The first year focuses on preclinical studies, followed by a year of basic sciences, which can be completed in the UK or Grenada. Students then continue with basic sciences at SGU’s Grenada campus. Up to two years of clinical rotations can be done in the US or UK, depending on visa policies, with elective options in Canada. The MD is awarded upon completion of the program.
Please note, as an international student:
*Entry qualifications are available for many countries and examination boards. Please work with your admissions officer to determine what entry qualifications and examination boards are needed from your home country. To see your region’s requirements, please visit www.sgu.edu/international-students.
An English exam is required for any prospective student whose country is not considered English-speaking per UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) guidance.* However, an exception may be granted to students with an undergraduate degree from any English-speaking country—a waiver must be requested from SGU in this instance.
* Visit GOV.UK for the list of approved English-speaking countries: gov.uk/student-visa/knowledge-of-english
