    Bio

    Hazel Da Breo, PhD, R.P. is an Assistant Professor of Psychology in the School of Arts and Sciences, St. George’s University. She previously worked as a Senior Research Fellow with the University of Huddersfield, U.K. Additionally, Da Breo directs an NGO, Sweet Water Foundation: Research and Treatment Institute which is well known internationally for its work with vulnerable and marginalized populations. Da Breo’s extensive research projects and interests cover child protection, inter-personal violence, and the relationships between violence, oppressive social systems, climate change trauma and mental health break down. She has also published widely in culture and the arts, and has written for film. Publications include books, book chapters, and articles. She is committed to psychology’s liberatory purpose, and its objective to offer interventions that relieve the suffering of ordinary people.
