Bio
Dr. Lanza-Perea began her teaching career in the teaching hospital at St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine, Grenada, in 2004. She is the Course Director for the Junior Surgery and Anesthesia Lab and co -directs the Shelter Medicine selective. She participates in several other labs as well as acts as faculty advisor for student organizations such as Spay and Neuter Pothound, One Health One Medicine and the Student Chapter of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians. Prior work experience includes 3 years as a permanent vet in practice and 4 years as a locum Veterinarian (relief work) in various veterinary surgical practices around the southern part of England, which allowed her to travel extensively in and out of the UK.
Dr. Lanza-Perea interests include small animal soft tissue surgery, Infectious Diseases, specially tick-borne diseases, Shelter Medicine and Behaviour. She has been involved in several research projects to do with those topics.
Dr. Lanza-Perea received a Bach in Vet Med from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), Spain, in 1994. She became a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS) in 1997 and in 2013 obtained her MSc in Clinical pathology from St George’s University.
