    Bio

    Wendy C. Grenade is a Grenadian political scientist with over twenty years’ experience regionally and internationally as an educator, researcher and administrator. Dr. Grenade holds a PhD in International Studies from the University of Miami (2005). She is currently Professor, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Assistant Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Director, Division of Continuing Education and Professional Development, School of Arts and Sciences, St. George’s University.  Prior to joining SGU, Dr. Grenade was employed at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus, Barbados from 2006-2022 as a Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Political Science. At the UWI she served as Chair, Department of Government, Sociology, Social Work and Psychology and as Deputy Dean, Outreach and Research, Faculty of Social Sciences. She also lectured at the University of Miami and Florida Atlantic University, as a post-doctoral fellow and an Adjunct Professor (2005/06). Dr. Grenade’s scholarly work has been published by reputable publishers. She is the editor of three books: (1) Multidimensional Threats and Regional Responses to Caribbean Security published by Lexington Publishers in 2025; (2) Interdisciplinary Perspectives on COVID-19 and the Caribbean, a co-authored edited two-part volume, which was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2023; and (3)  The Grenada Revolution Reflections and Lessons, published by University Press of Mississippi in 2015.  Dr. Grenade has also published seven (7) journal essays and fifteen (15) book chapters.  Dr. Grenade has presented papers at numerous academic conferences in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to joining the academy, Dr. Grenade was employed with the Government of Grenada in the public sector and the Grenada diplomatic service with postings in Washington D.C. and London.
