1. St. George’s University Names Campus in Honor of Chancellor Charles Modica
SGU honored its visionary co-founder and chancellor, Dr. Charles R. Modica, by officially naming its Grenada campus the Chancellor Charles Modica Campus—a tribute to nearly five decades of leadership, service, and transformational impact. The dedication ceremony brought together faculty, staff, alumni, and special guests to celebrate his legacy and the University’s remarkable journey.
2. Meet SGU’s School of Medicine 2024-25 Class
SGU’s School of Medicine 2024–25 Class infographic offered a vivid snapshot of the diversity shaping this year’s future physicians. With strong representation from California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Texas, plus students spanning numerous countries, age groups, and academic disciplines. The class highlighted SGU’s truly global and multifaceted community.

3. Match Day 2025: 1,000+ SGU Students and Grads Secure Residency Positions
Match Day 2025 marked a major milestone as more than 1,049 SGU students and graduates secured residency positions across the United States in specialties such as internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, surgery, and emergency medicine.2

4. New SGU Students Don Their White Coats at this Year’s White Coat Ceremonies
SGU celebrated a full year of White Coat Ceremonies, marking the beginning of the medical journey for three incoming classes across January, April and August. Together, these ceremonies welcomed hundreds of future physicians with each class bringing its own energy, diversity, and sense of purpose as they donned their first white coats.

6. SGU and University of Waterloo Launch Innovative New Program to Address Canadian Doctor Shortage
SGU and the University of Waterloo announced a first-of-its-kind partnership designed to help address Canada’s growing physician shortage. The new 5- and 6-Year MD Tracks create a streamlined pathway from high school to medical school, offering students earlier access to medical training and a clearer route to eventually serve communities across Canada.
