2. From SGU to Service: Vet School Grad Cares for Military Dogs in the US Army
Veterinary surgeon Matthew Morgan, DVM ’11, shared his path from SGU to the US Army Veterinary Corps, where he now provides lifesaving care to military working dogs in high-risk environments. His journey reflects the strength of SGU’s clinical training and the impact its alumni make in service-focused veterinary roles.

3. VIRMP 2025: 37 SGU Veterinary Students + Alumni Secure Competitive Residencies and Internships
Thirty-seven SGU veterinary medical students and alumni earned positions in the Veterinary Internship & Residency Matching Program (VIRMP) in 2025. They secured placements in specialties such as small animal internal medicine, emergency and critical care, small and large animal surgery, and zoological companion animal medicine.
