St. George’s University (SGU) has launched MDReady, a new program that allows prospective medical students to experience the first 14 weeks of medical school before committing to a full MD program.
Participants take the same courses and exams as first-term students, providing an early look at the academic demands and daily life of medical school. Tuition is deferred during the trial period, though participants are responsible for living expenses.
The program is designed for students who want to explore a career in medicine, confirm a second career choice, or build confidence before taking the full step into medical school. Those who successfully complete the 14-week trial have the option to continue into SGU’s MD program with full admission and eligibility for federal loans and scholarships.
