Biography
Dr. Bhola serves as the Deputy Chair and an Associate Professor or Tourism and Management in the Department of Business and Management Studies within the School of Arts and Sciences at St. George’s University. She has 15 years of experience teaching at the tertiary level, she is actively involved in both undergraduate and graduate programs. At the Bachelor’s level, she instructs in courses such as Principles of Management, Organizational Behavior, Events Management, Quality Customer Service, Food and Beverage Service Management, Culinary Management, and Accommodation Management. In the MBA program, she lectures in the area of Human Resource Management.
Deputy Chair and Associate Professor Bhola has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management with a focus on Leadership and Organization Change from Walden University; a Master of Philosophy in Management (MPhil.) from Walden University; a Master of Science in Hospitality Management (MSc.) from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Sciences with Honors in Hospitality Management (BSc. Hons.) from the University of the West Indies.
Dr. Bhola has extensive industry experience in tourism and hospitality, specializing in Food and Beverage Operations, Front Office Management, and Cost Control. She has held key management roles at renowned establishments, including Spice Island Beach Resort, Blue Horizons Garden Resort, Curtain Bluff Hotel, the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association, and Wyndham Ambassador Beach Hotel.
Dr. Bhola has taught Food and Beverage Management, Quality Customer Service, and Tourism Management at T.A. Marryshow Community College for the Associate Degree programs. She has also consulted for the Government of Grenada, local businesses, and hotels, offering expertise in customer service, food and beverage, wines and spirits, front office operations, and bartending. Additionally, she has delivered specialized training on topics such as “Dressing for Success,” “Dining Etiquette,” and service excellence to various organizations across Grenada.
Dr. Bhola’s publications focuses on sustainable tourism, heritage tourism, leadership, and open innovation in small and medium enterprises. She has two peer-reviewed articles specifically on open innovation and sustainable tourism. Additionally, she serves as a journal reviewer for the Asian Journal of Economics, Business and Accounting and the Asian Journal of Social Studies and Economics. Her training experience spans both private and public sector organizations, covering topics such as customer service, dining etiquette, food and beverage management, housekeeping, front office operations, principles of management, and leadership.
